College Admissions Resources
Resources include MEFA Pathway, the College Scorecard, College Navigator, and MEFA's College Admissions webinar
If you have a junior in high school, or even a sophomore, you're likely already thinking about the college admissions process. Though there's much to learn about applying to college, there are several resources available to help you navigate each step. We've outlined four great ones below.
- MEFA Pathway: This free college and career planning portal is open to every student in Massachusetts and provides self-assessment quizzes, a college search engine, a scholarships list, and the ability to keep a detailed profile of college applications. Students simply need to create a log-in to gain access and stay on track during the admissions process.
- College Scorecard: The College Scorecard allows students to find colleges based on certain criteria and includes information for each school on the average net price, 6-year graduation rate, median student federal loan debt, and median alumni salary.
- College Navigator: Filled with information about thousands of colleges and universities across the country, College Navigator includes a comprehensive school search (of which students can save the results) and provides details on admissions requirements, academic programs, graduation rate, average net price, and student loan default rate.
- MEFA's College Admissions Webinar: MEFA's webinar on college admissions helps families establish a personalized admissions road map by addressing topics such as current trends in admissions, building a balanced college list, and the different components of the college application including transcripts, essays, and interviews. You can watch our recorded College Admissions presentation online anytime.
In addition to these resources, we have MEFA team members ready to answer any of your admissions and college planning questions. We invite you to email us anytime at collegeplanning@mefa.org or call us at (800) 449-6332.
